“Did you get it?” the fey king hissed as soon as Arlos appeared through the darkness. Arlos took a breath, expelling his doubts and worries before nodding. He handed the object to the fey king.

The impish face lit up with twisted delight as he took the stone it was a dark gray stone, nothing special about it from first looks, but underneath the surface flashed if one looked at it right.

“Perfect,” the king mused, touching it delicately, admiring it from every angle watching the bare light play across the surface as if he could see much more than human eyes. Then he quickly hid it away.

“What is it?” Arlos asked.

“That’s not part of the agreement,” the fey king said.

“This is all we need?” Arlos asked.

“Not all. But it’s a start. There’s one more thing we must do for this to work.”

“Very well, what do we do?”
